Crisis Management and Organisational Resilience

The news is full of high profile disasters and crises and the impact they have on people’s lives, businesses and the environment.
Thankfully Crises or Disasters don’t happen every day, but when they do we need to be prepared to respond to them.
Of course we don’t know what will happen, when it will happen or exactly what the impact will be. Developing plans for every possible eventuality is not recommended, but taking some time to ask the WHAT IF? questions is. In this way it is possible to take the necessary steps to prepare, in order to anticipate, respond to and recover from a disaster or disruptive event. We call this RESILIENCE.
Rebecca Norton is a freelance consultant, trainer and project manager specialising in Crisis Management and Resilience. She has more than 15 years experience helping organisations prepare for and respond to disruptive events and has worked on projects across almost every industry sector. This includes The NHS, Major Utilities, Road and Rail Industry, Housing Sector, European Commission, Central and Local Government, Financial Services and also the Charitable Sector.
Rebecca holds a BSc Hons in Disaster Management and a Professional Diploma in Business Continuity Management (BCM). She is a former operational member of an International Urban Search and Rescue Team and has first-hand experience of responding to a number of major disasters.
As an independent consultant, Rebecca enjoys the freedom of being able to work closely with clients free from the constrains of a large consultancy in order to deliver pragmatic and straightforward outcomes, that really add value.
Depending on the needs of the project, she frequently also works alongside a small group of trusted associates, including Archway Resilience, Cedarthree, Active Thinking and Woadman Consulting.
